We built SIMPLEE because we knew what 3PLs were getting wrong.
In 2013, Lee bought a small online furniture business selling mainly on Amazon. Two years later, Ross joined him to run it. Between them, they spent years on the customer side of fulfilment — dealing with 3PLs that could not handle a 50kg rattan set, did not understand seasonal peak, and treated every parcel like it was a paperback.
Our story
When Brexit changed the operational landscape in 2017, they pivoted: the spare warehouse capacity they'd built for their own business could solve the same problem for others.
SIMPLEE UK was born — a 3PL run by people who had been the customer first.
Growth from the first warehouse
Simplee officially started in August 2017. Before opening, the business gained its first customer through networking with freight and logistics providers.
The first 12,000 SQ FT warehouse was soon full, working with four clients. When one customer asked for more space, the team found another warehouse, adding 17,000 SQ FT by November 2017.
By the end of 2019, Simplee was managing 74,000 SQ FT with ten clients. By 2020, Simplee had a total of 120,000 SQ FT of busy warehouse space.
Where SIMPLEE UK is now
The business now has 15 members of staff and offers add-on services including admin, customer service, and operations in house.
The team is not stopping here; the journey continues.
