Our story
In 2013, Lee bought his first business, a small online shop selling furniture mainly on Amazon. In 2015, Ross joined to help run the growing business.
When Brexit came, the team had to change a few things. The idea emerged to offer services and warehouse space to other small businesses that were also feeling the squeeze.
After a call to Bob, Lee mentor, the team decided to start Simplee, with Ross, Bob, and Lee as shareholders. The Managing Director role was offered to Ross while Bob and Lee continued with their other businesses.
Growth from the first warehouse
Simplee officially started in August 2017. Before opening, the business gained its first customer through networking with freight and logistics providers.
The first 12,000 SQ FT warehouse was soon full, working with four clients. When one customer asked for more space, the team found another warehouse, adding 17,000 SQ FT by November 2017.
By the end of 2019, Simplee was managing 74,000 SQ FT with ten clients. By 2020, Simplee had a total of 120,000 SQ FT of busy warehouse space.
Where SIMPLEE UK is now
The business now has 15 members of staff and offers add-on services including admin, customer service, and operations in house.
The team is not stopping here; the journey continues.
